Long Live the Succulents!

July 12, 2012

My arrangement from the Coronado Flower Show in April was finally looking a bit sad, so it was time to take it apart and repurpose the parts.  Gotta love those succulents!  Virtually all the parts are reusable, and some of the cuttings looked almost as fresh as the day they were cut.

(Top Row) Sansevieria blades went back into the vase and they’ll probably last months more without any water.  The epidendrums also held up really well and I’ll plant those in a pot.

(Middle Row) The jade plant is tough and sprouted small roots.  I’ll plant these in my shutter vertical gardens.

(Bottom Row) The aeoniums and other succulents were also be repurposed into my shutter gardens.

A new version

Here’s the newest version of the arrangement.  A bit more plain, but same sansevieria.
