Read this interesting article and check out the pictures in this Los Angeles Times about No-Dig Gardening. It’s an interesting concept that I’d like to try. It would be an interesting way to create raised beds in a less expensive way than building boxes and when you are done you could throw the mess into your compost bin.

I just learned that the San Diego Floral Association has a library for public use in Balboa Park. You can access the library Monday-Friday from 10:00am-3:00pm, Casa del Prado, Room 105 in Balboa Park. For more information call 619-232-5762 or log on to their website. Nice to know it’s out there.

As a member of the Crown Garden Club, I signed up to do Library Flowers at the Coronado Public Library. It’s called Library Flowers, but plant displays are allowed, too. Every week on Wednesday morning, a member of the club provides a display for the library by the front desk. This was my contribution a few weeks back. I was happy with my design and got some nice feedback. Succulents are so subtle and classic.

The freesias are blooming in full force in my front yard but it only lasts about 2 weeks looking this good. The fragrance is so strong right now!
