Trailing Jade – Senecio jacobsenii – I am growing a few of these and love them! They are pretty tough and grow in a variety of situations. Of course, the more stressed they are, the more color they will have, plus this variety tends to bloom prolifically when it’s growing under tougher conditions.
I love this succulent too. It really is super hardy. And can have pretty coloring when stressed but recovers with deep watering. Make sure the whole root ball gets soaked when they are in pots or the water runs down the air pockets. I also found they really grow fast with liquid fertilizer, I like sea kelp. And it’s super easy to propagate from leaf and stem cuttings. I had them growing in ‘wooly pockets’ @ hanging with other succulents on a cement block wall. I don’t know why nurseries don’t grow them more than they do, sometimes they are hard to find and I have to special order them. Happy gardening!
Hi Katarina, Thank you for your helpful hint regarding fertilizing with kelp. I’ll give it a try. I’m propagating more of these so I’m glad to hear that they are easy to start. Thanks for reading! Leslie
